The Land Transportation Office (LTO) of the Philippines is set to launch its Cashless Transaction System for renewal of licensees, registrations and more.

The LTO is reportedly the first government agency to adopt the measure following the agency’s realisation that the manual cashier system only created additional lines and problems to people attending to business in their offices.

The new Cashless Transaction System is not only for renewal of licences but also settling of fines – something surely that will benefit anyone caught in a nasty offence in the Philippines.

Through the system, anyone can make payments to the agency via a wireless machine ATM and/or Debit Card.

“The new system will first serve at the main offices within the metropolis and will soon roll out to various satellite offices,” said LTO spokesperson Jason Salvador. “Clients can still opt to pay in cash, but those who wish to have a faster and more convenient transaction could accommodate this new system.”
