Police are investigating after a 60-year-old Polish man was found dead on his yacht in Linapacan Town, Palawan.
The lifeless body of Goncz Zdzislaw was discovered at about 3.30pm yesterday (Saturday, March 23) aboard his yacht Pelagian, which was moored in Barangay New Colaylayan.
According to police, Mr Zdzislaw — a resident of Puerto Princesa — arrived in the town on the afternoon of Sunday, March 17. Residents of the barangay said he was last seen walking around on his vessel on Wednesday.
After locals noticed that he had not been seen for three days, and the yacht appeared to be abandoned, barangay chairman Romeo Pacaldo and village security personnel investigated yesterday and found Mr Zdzislaw’s body.
The death has been reported to his family and the Polish Embassy in Manila. No cause of death has been announced, and an autopsy on his body is currently underway.
The result of an investigation conducted by the police’s scene of crime operatives has not yet been issued. It has not yet been revealed whether there is any suspicion of foul play.
