Woman robbed while live selling plants

Aling Bebiana, 46, of Caloocan City, is now suffering from severe trauma after being the victim of a holdup while live selling on January 13.

He said that she was about to finish her live selling plants, on Thursday night when she was suddenly approached by a man wearing a mask and helmet with a gun.

“Biglang may kumalabit sa akin, ayun na yung nangyari tinutukan niya ako ng baril and then hinampas tapos nabalya ako…Cellphone lang naman ang kinuha niya,” said Bebiana Manio.

(Suddenly someone touched me, that’s what happened he pointed a gun at me and then hit me. He only took my cellphone.)

The male suspect immediately got on the motorcycle, but Aling Bebiana was not able to follow him after the suspect reprimanded her.

According to the Caloocan City police, the investigation is still ongoing, to catch the suspect in the holdup.

Authorities also reminded people to be careful when using cell phones, especially when live selling to avoid such incidents.

Despite the trauma suffered, BeBiana will continue to do live selling as it is a big help to their income now that there is a pandemic.

Over 150 families in Davao de Oro evacuated due to flooding

Local governments evacuated some residents affected by the floods Sunday morning in some areas in the towns of Mawab and Nabunturan in Davao de Oro.

Due to the continuous rains and rising floodwater levels, a pre-emptive evacuation was carried out in Barangay Basak and Bukal in Nabunturan.

Aside from the flooded areas, residents living in flood and landslide-prone areas were also evacuated.

Based on data from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), up to 166 families from 5 barangays in Nabunturan were evacuated.

According to the local government, relief goods and food have already been brought to the evacuees.

In Mawab town, a preemptive evacuation was also carried out in some barangays there due to floods.

There was also a landslide on the highway section at Kilometer 70, Barangay Tuboran, Mawab.

According to PAGASA, the shear line brought rains that affected the eastern part of Mindanao.
