Woman faces up to five years prison for selling fake Colgate toothpaste

A 20-year-old resident of the Philippines faces up to five years in prison for her part in selling fake Colgate toothpaste.

The Chinese trader was found guilty by a Cebu Judge for violation of Republic Act #8293 (the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines) which prohibits the manufacturing and sale of counterfeit items.

Zhu Xhu Hua Lim, otherwise known as Sharon Go was also ordered to pay a 200,000 peso fine – Lim broke down after hearing the verdict as Cebu Police arrested her and took her to jail.
