Authorities arrested a man who beheaded a woman and ate her brain in Talisayan, Misamis Oriental, Thursday.
According to Talisayan police chief Capt. Maribeth Ramoga, they identified the suspect as Lloyd Bagtong, 21, a resident of Brgy. Casibole.
The suspect said he got furious because he could not understand the victim’s English.
Because of this, he beheaded the woman using a bolo and ate her brain.

Authorities found the victim’s body without top clothing and wearing only jeans.
The victim’s skull was found in Bagtong’s home.

Police will then consult with the psychiatrist to determine the suspect’s mental state.
The identity of the victim is not yet known, so police have urged families with missing relatives to go to the Gomez Funeral Homes, where the woman’s remains were taken.
Such an incident can be considered as human cannibalism. There are cases of people who have mental illness engaging in cannibalism, such as what FilipiKnow reported in “5 Horrifying Pinoy Cannibals.”
