Police rescued six children and a young woman from a suspected cybersex den in Bacolod yesterday (Thursday, July 13).
A 35-year-old woman was arrested during the entrapment operation.
Police rescued two of the suspect’s children – a two-year-old boy and a five-year-old girl – as well as her nieces aged 17 and 22 and other children aged five, 14 and 16.
The suspect had been placed under surveillance for a week after she was accused of taking photos of her neighbours’ children bathing.
She was then caught in the act of pimping her five-year-old daughter to a customer — believed to be a Dutchman — to perform sexual acts live streamed online in exchange for money.
The suspect is accused of operating the business, which she ‘inherited’ from a sister, for three years. Online customers from around the world were charged between 1,000-25,000 pesos to view acts of child abuse.
Investigations are continuing to locate other victims.
The six children are now in the care of the City Department of Social Welfare and Development.
The suspect will face charges for child abuse and violations of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 and the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003.
Yesterday’s operation is just the latest success for police in Bacolod. As we previously reported, three women were arrested and three of their children taken into protective custody in May.
In the same month, a 61-year-old bisexual American was arrested in the city after he allegedly uploaded sex videos onto the internet.
