The wife of a British man was robbed of 200,000 pesos in jewellery from their home in Greenland Subdivision, Barangay Four, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday.
Police say the robbers entered the house of Mila Britton by breaking the exterior window and stealing jewellery and a .45 calibre pistol.
Ms Britton was said to have left for London for her husband’s medical treatment six months ago – the theft of the jewels was discovered after returning home just two days before.
The sister-in-law of Ms Britton was watching over the house. Police believe that the robbers were monitoring the movements of the caretaker before breaking in.
