‘Weightlifting Fairy’ actor Moon Ji Yoon dies at 36

South Korean actor Moon Ji Yoon (문지윤) dies at the age of 36 years old due to blood poisoning, Wednesday, March 18.

The star died of acute septicemia (blood poisoning), as confirmed by his agency, Family ENT.

On March 16 (Monday), it’s revealed that Ji Yoon was admitted to the hospital after complaining of a sore throat. “His condition became much worse, and he was moved to the intensive care unit, but suddenly fell into sepsis and lost consciousness,” a source from the entertainment label told Xportsnews.

“I’ve worked with Moon Ji Yoon for a long time. He was a healthy man. He was someone who was very passionate and only thought about acting. It’s so heartbreaking that he left us too soon,” the insider further continued.

It was revealed that the actor’s funeral is set to be held at the Inje University Hospital, funeral parlor number 3.

However, due to the threat COVID-19 outbreak in South Korea, Moon Ji Yoon’s family will conduct the ceremony in private.

As of today, South Korea has 8,565 confirmed cases of pandemic coronavirus with 152 fatalities.

Moon Ji Yoon is a South Korean model and actor. He was born on February 18, 1984, and made his acting debut in 2002.

He appeared in many popular shows, including the dramas “Hyunjung, I Love You,” “Sassy Girl Chunhyang,” “Iljimae,” “Big,” “May Queen,” “Cheese in the Trap,” and “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo”.
