Well known Filipino businessman Archimedes “Archie” Rosario King, owner of the Victoria Court Hotel chain has died while undergoing medical treatment from a crash of his helicopter near Mount Maculot in Cuenca, Batangas, Philippines.

The accident happened at 12.45pm on Sunday, killing both King and his pilot, Captain Felicisimo Taborlupa.

King and his wife and friends were on a return trip to Manila from Puerta Galera in Mindoro when the helicopter crashed in the mountainous region.

King, the son of a Chinese-Filipino billionaire was riding along with several fellow business people including Tina Ocampo, Ricco Ocampo, Tatler Philippines editor Anton San Diego, Christopher Chilip, Patricia Chilip and Ling-ling King.were injured in the crash and were brought to Martin Marasigan Hospital, according to reports from the Philstar.

An initial investigation has not determined the exact cause of the crash, however inclement weather due to tropical storm “Egay” is suspected to have played a major part in bringing down the aircraft.
