#WalangPasok: Class suspension due to typhoon Ramon, Friday, November 15

#WalangPasok: Several local governments have announced a class suspension for the day, Friday, November 15 due to the expected bad weather caused by Tropical Storm Ramon.

According to PAGASA’s weather bulleting, at 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm “RAMON” {KALMAEGI} was estimated based on all available data at 455 km East Northeast of Casiguran, Aurora (16.9 °N, 126.1 °E).

“Ramon” has maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 90 km/h. It is moving North at 15 km/h. Northeast Monsoon affecting Northern Luzon.

Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, and the provinces of Apayao, Aurora, Quezon, Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms weather condition.

Residents in the aforementioned areas, especially those living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to flooding and rain-induced landslides, are advised to take precautionary measures, coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices, and continue monitoring for updates, especially the Thunderstorm or Rainfall Advisories and Heavy Rainfall Warnings to be issued by PAGASA Regional Services Divisions.

Sea travel is risky, especially for small sea crafts, over the seaboards of areas under TCWS, the seaboards of Northern Luzon, and the eastern seaboards of Aurora and Quezon due to prevailing or forecast rough sea conditions.
