In a press conference, Robredo announced that she would accept the president’s offer to be part of the administration’s programs against illegal drugs.
Said Robredo, “Dahil kung mayroon akong maililigtas na kahit isang inosenteng buhay, ang sinasabi ng prinsipyo at puso ko ay kailangan ko itong subukan.”
(If I can save even one innocent life, my principles and heart tell me I should try.)
Robredo also said she and the President still have two and half year to work together to eliminate the country’s problem with illegal drugs.
Duterte appoints VP Leni Robredo as ICAD co-chair
Yesterday, President Rodrigo Duterte formally assigned VP Leni Robredo as co-chair of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Ilegal Drugs.
A photo shared by Pia Guitierrez of ABS-CBN News showed a transmittal letter addressed to VP Leni, informing her that she was appointed to the said position.
The letter signed by Salvador Medialde, Executive Secretary, states, “I am pleased to transmit herewith your designation letter, signed by President Rodrigo R. Duterte as CO-CHAIRPERSON OF THE INTER-AGENCY COMMITTEE ON ANTI-ILLEGAL DRUGS. Best regards.”
Meanwhile, the Presidential Anti Corruption Commission (PACC) said that the office of the Vice President (OVP) Leni Robredo should no longer solicit donations for the victims of the quake in Mindanao.
According to PACC spokesman and Commissioner Manuelito Luna, such solicitations will bring legal and ethical issues to the Vice President.
