Vaccine supply in Metro Manila limited

Many cities in Metro Manila no longer have a supply of vaccines for the first dose this Wednesday.

On Tuesday, thousands were vaccinated in the city of Manila, but now there is no vaccination for the first dose.

According to Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, their vaccination will also go down.

It was first announced that there would be no first dose vaccination in many cities in Metro Manila. These include Makati, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Valenzuela and Las Piñas.

According to the LGUs, no vaccine has yet arrived from the national government, and they are still waiting for more vaccines. They are also waiting for the vaccines they bought themselves but are not sure when they will arrive.

Meanwhile, walk-ins at vaccination centers in Malabon were halted on Wednesday due to limited supply.

The mega vaccination center there has already been closed.

About 1,682 Malabon residents are scheduled to be vaccinated at various sites today, including Potrero Elementary School.

The supply of vaccines is limited here, so they stopped accepting walk-ins.

The Oreta Sports Complex, a mega vaccination site, has also closed. Only at Fisher Mall in Malabon are there the first twelve vaccines.

There are 5 vaccination sites in Malabon, and only scheduled second doses will be allowed to enter.

More than 78,000 people are already vaccinated here in the city, or 21 out of every 100 people.

Meanwhile, the number of active COVID 9 cases in the city has also dropped. They have only 112 active cases here in Malabon.

Meanwhile, 170,000 doses of Sputnik V vaccine are expected on Wednesday night, while AstraZeneca and Sinovac are also expected in the coming days and weeks.

The National Task Force said the Philippines had vaccinated at least 11 million  against COVID-19 as of July 2.

“Sa loob lamang po ng apat na araw, mula Lunes hanggang kahapon, one million doses po ang na-i-jab natin. At dahil po diyan, 11 million na po ang ating jabs na na-administer sa ating mga kababayan,” Deputy Chief Implemented Vince Dizon said.

(We were able to administer one million doses in the last four days until yesterday, so we reached the 11 million mark.)
