Update: Police frees suspect in Jang Lucero killing

Update: The Calamba, Laguna prosecutor, ordered the police to release the female suspect in the murder of female driver Jang Lucero who was stabbed 52 times inside her car.

John Consulta reported in GMA News “24 Oras” on Friday, it is said that the police did not present enough evidence against 20-year-old Annshiela Belarmino before the prosecutor.

Witnesses through the CCTV footage identified Belarmino as one of the three passengers who rode Jang’s car on the night she was murdered.

Jang Lucero was found dead inside her car with 52 stab wounds inside her vehicle on Bypass Road in Calamba. She was laid to rest yesterday, July 6.

Despite wearing a face mask, authorities allegedly identified Belarmino as a suspect captured on CCTV because of her tattoo on her back.

Two witnesses also pointed Belarmino linking her to the crime.

But the prosecutor is not convinced by the police evidence to continue filing a murder complaint in court against Belarmino, who was released from jail on Thursday.

Police said some witnesses were there when they rode Jang’s car. Another witness even saw her at the crime scene, alighting from the victim’s vehicle, the investigators added.

Jang Lucero killing update

According to the sources of GMA News, an alias “M” held Jang’s arms from the back while an alias “Ann” stabbed the victim when they reached Brgy. Bucal, Calamba, Laguna.

Alias “B” was allegedly driving the blue car, which the suspects used as their getaway vehicle.

Police said the suspects could have used an ice pick. That’s why there were fewer blood stains inside Jang’s car, but it penetrated her heart, lungs, gall bladder, and other internal organs.

Earlier, Belarmino asserted that she was innocent and that someone might have imitated his tattoo on the back.

“Hindi po ako ‘yong nasa video. Puwedeng katulad lang ng buhok ko or ginaya ‘yong tattoo ko dahil noong time na ‘yon ay wala ako doon at nakikipag-inuman ako sa ibang lugar,” Annshiela Belarmino said.

(I’m not the one in the video. Maybe we have a similar haircut, or she imitated my tattoo because, at the time, I was not there. I was drinking somewhere else.)

Before being released, Belarmino showed GMA News her hands to prove that she did not have any scars from the crime.
