The Araneta Coliseum, often called “The Big Dome” is an indoor multi-purpose Sports Arena, located in Cubao area of Quezon City. It was at one time the largest coliseum and indoor facility in Asia. Officially opened on March 16, 1960, it held the largest dome in the world until 2014 when Singapore built a coliseum which surpassed its size by 37 metres. 

Boxing fans may know that “The Thrilla In Manila” – the boxing match that echoed around the world – between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier happened at the Araneta Coliseum under the direction of Ferdinand Marcos on October 1, 1975.
