Udenna Infrastructure Corp. (UIC), which also under Dennis Uy’s Udenna Group, bagged the P10-billion contract to build the towers and fiber optic cables of DITO Telecommunity Corporation.

Fuentes added that Undenna Infrastructure and FutureNet and  Technology  Corp.,  the DITO general contractor, recently signed a master service agreement (MSA).

The MSA outlines the matrix of responsibilities, scope of work, and work process to construct almost 1,500 towers and more than 1,400 kilometers of fiber optic cabling for two years.

“Since 2017, UIC has been hard at work, as we believe there is no more worthwhile investment than the country itself, generating jobs for Filipinos and delivering a higher quality of life to all,” he said.

The government then allowed , the third telecommunications player in the Philippines, to build cell sites inside  in the country, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said earlier.

Lorenzana confirmed he had approved the 2019 Memorandum of Agreement between the Philippines’ Armed Forces (AFP) and DITO Telecommunity. The deal would allow DITO to set up towers in military camps.

The Defense Chief, however, clarified that the MOA he approved between DITO and AFP would only affect military camp where Globe and Smart also set up cell sites.

As of September 13, DITO said it had built a total of 859 towers, more than 50 percent of the 1,300 towers needed to achieve the required goal of 37% of population coverage and 27 megabits per second (Mbps) internet speed by January 2021.
