Parts of the Philippines will experience stormy weather over Mother’s Day weekend when Typhoon Dodong is expected to make landfall on Luzon.

The state weather bureau said the typhoon’s international name is “Noul” and has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 4am on Thursday after accelerating overnight.
The typhoon was last located at Pagasa, which is about 1,040km eat of Surigao City with winds reaching 130kph and gusts topping out at 160kph.
The storm is expected to bring heavy rainfall to the region and will affect a large region of Luzon due to its 150-200km radius.

Authorities are saying that even if the storm slightly curves north, the size of the storm will still affect Luzon and northerly regions of the country.
