Two lobster traders were shot dead by suspected pirates off Malangas, Zamboanga Sibugay on Saturday.

Police from Zamboanga Peninsula identified the men as Ramil Dela Cruz and Rene Boy Duran, both residents of Vincenzio Sagun, Zamboanga del Sur.

Both men sustained mutliple gun shot wounds to the body.

An initial investigation showed that Dela Cruz and Duran went to sell lobsters in Malangas at 10am and failed to return home. Their bodies were discovered by fishermen around 3.30pm in the sea near Malangas.
