Twenty-four prostitutes rescued from Boracay bar in sting operation

Twenty-four prostitutes were said to be rescued from their commercial sex group after the Boracay Tourtis Assistance Centre intervened.

Police say an undercover sting netted two arrests after agents acted as customers. The two men will face Anti-trafficking of Persons act of 2003.

The two suspects in the case were identified by police as 32-year-old Nestor Fabiano Jr. and 29-year-old Boyet Fajarito – both men are employees of Video King Bar as a cashier and waiter.

The two suspects were arrested after receiving 4,000 pesos in marked money from undercover agents on March 5.

Police say the undercover agents hired three prostitutes aged 23, 27, and 24 for sex in exchange for money.

The women are said to be residents of Iloilo City and Navotas City and were working at the bar.

Recovered from the suspects were the marked 4,000 pesos and an additional 3,000 pesos in cash. Police also confiscated the barangay clearance, business registration certificate and logbooks from the bar.

Police are now looking for the owners of the bar who remain at large.

Other women involved in the rescue were aged from 20 to 27.
