Transmission towers in North Cotabato bombed again

The National Grid has reported that two of its multi-million power transmission towers in Carmen, North Cotabato were bombed again on Tuesday.

Posted on the company Facebook page, towers #95 and #96 were damaged by explosions – the 138-kV transmission lines are important to the national grid.

Both towers did not collapse like prior bombings of the national grid have, but the explosions damaged both towers.

Officials said that this was the fourth and fifth bombing of the NGCP towers this year – they also pledged that the towers would be repaired as soon as the military makes the area secure.

NGCP has pleaded with the public to identify those who are bombing the power lines.

A police report no the bombings said that the suspects used six improvised explosive devices to to bomb the two power structures.
