As Metro Manila goes under alert level 4, some attractions such as Intramuros and Luneta Park in Manila will reopen.
Even outside the region, there will be interzonal leisure travel or excursions of NCR residents to tourist destinations.
“Puwede nang pumunta as long as yung lugar ay naka-GCQ o MCQ or pumapayag yung LGU na tumanggap ng turista, puwede na,” said Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat.
The secretary added that it is better to find out from the LGU itself if it accepts tourists.
“As of now ang puwede ay Boracay, El Nido… Ang maganda dito ay i-check nila yung LGU, kasi pabago-bago rin sila. In the case of Baguio, nag-announce si Mayor Magalong na no leisure travel kahit galing saang lugar up to the 19th.”
But Puyat reminded that only those aged 18 to 65 will be allowed to take a walk.
Indoor museums and staycations are also prohibited.
“Bawal pa rin ang staycation under alert level 4,” said Puyat.
Meanwhile, Rizal Park will open from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. and will only allow up to 500 guests.
Fewer tourists will be allowed inside the attractions in Intramuros with only up to 150 people.
The Quiapo Church in Manila is also ready to open its doors to devotees.
Tourist spots opened under Alert Level 4
Because only 10 percent will be allowed inside the churches, only up to 100 will be admitted to the Quiapo church and up to 300 outside it.
