Three people are dead and four injured after an accident involving firefighters from Mati City, Davao Oriental.
The firetruck was heading to Manay to tackle a blaze when the it rolled over after the driver lost control in Tomoang at 1.30pm on Tuesday.
Killed were Ludivico Ponce and Arnel Jon Angsinco, both assigned at the Bureau of Fire Protection station in Mati, and Nico Corambao, a city government worker detailed with the firefighters.
Reports say that the fire truck had a brake malfunction, causing it to overshoot the road and turn upside down.
The crash occurred just a few hours after Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas and the BFP formally kicked off the “Fire Prevention Month” in Quezon City.
