Three men now stand arrested for their part in a suspected gang member group with links to robbery and hired killings throughout Talisay and Cebu regions.
The three have been arrested for their part in the shooting at Talisay City McDonald’s where a German lost his life last Friday.
Cebu Police are also creating a special investigation task group to get to the bottom of the shooting.
Last Friday evening, police arrested Allan Velus after the fiancee of Henry Haffner identified him from a photo. Haffner was the German killed in the shooting of three foreigners.
The predawn shooting at a fast-food outlet in Talisay City last Friday resulted in the wounding of a Frenchman and an Indian national.
Also arrested was 21-year-old Ricci Edwin Ramirez who was caught on CCTV footage as one of the members who fired upon the men.
Ramirez has admitted being the one wearing a sleeveless shirt and holding a cal-.45 pistol. But Ramirez said his companions were the ones who fired first.
The third man arrested is 40-year-old Roger Cal, a neighbor of Ramirez and the owner of the gun used in the shooting.
Superintendent Rex Derilo, head of the Central Visayas Regional Special Operations Group, said Ramirez could become a witness if he was just dragged into the case.
Meanwhile, Talisay City police head Superintendent Reycel Dayon said they are verifying information the suspects are hired killers and members of a robbery group operating in Talisay City and Minglanilla town.
Police are also looking into the suspects’ possible involvement in the drug trade – with the killing of a policeman in Minglanilla.
