The suspect took the two-week-old baby boy from his house in Batangas and brought him to her boyfriend in Quezon city.
Authorities identified the suspect as Shiela May, resident of San Roque, Sto Tomas, Batangas who will face kidnapping charges.
According to the police reports, the baby’s mother Analiza Aboy was shocked when she learned that her baby was already missing when she woke up on the dawn of Sunday.
The CCTV footage showed the teenager carrying the baby while escaping the house and walking away at around 4:00 in the morning.
Police said that the suspect could quickly enter and leave the house because she was one of the victim’s closest cousins. She even sometimes took care of the baby.
Suspect wanted to use baby cousin as evidence that she gave birth
According to Sto. Tomas police Women and Children Protection Desks (WCPD) chief PCpl. Mylene Paulmitan, investigation revealed that the Shiela May kidnapped the baby to show it to her boyfriend Wilbert Gumarin who was working in Quezon City.
Reports said that the Shiela May was Wilbert’s Gumarin co-worker. Last month, Shiela May took leave and said that she was pregnant. She also said that she was about to give birth in their province this August.
After receiving the kidnapping complaint, Sto. Tomas immediately conducted an operation at Wilbert’s house in Quezon City. However, they were not able to find the suspect there who said she would bring back the baby to his parents.
