Hospital in Batangas locked down after doctor, nurse tested positive for COVID-19

Lemery Mayor Larry Alilio is temporarily closing Batangas Provincial Hospital after a doctor and nurse tested positive for COVID-19.

According to Alilio, infected health workers are not residents of Lemery.

The hospital will undergo sanitation and disinfection, and all patients admitted would be tested for COVID-19.

Those who would test negative would be allowed to return home while those who would test positive would be admitted to a 14-day quarantine at their barangay’s isolation facility.

The suspect case at Lemery is still 31, but it only has one active case since the other three patients already recovered.

On its social media account, Batangas Provincial Hospital sought the public’s understanding. It said that the hospital’s operation would be resumed as long as the facility was clean and safe for everyone.
