Teacher accused of sextortion arrested in Department of Education building
According to the victim, it was December when he was chatting with the teacher who posed as a girl. He allegedly asked him for a nude video, which the suspect used to blackmail him later on.
The suspect threatened to spread the video if the victim would not agree to the sexual act they would do in the area where the teacher was arrested.
Authorities seized a cellphone and a rope from the suspect that would have been used to tie the victim’s hand.
Torres continues to deny the accusations against him, though police say they have strong evidence against the teacher.
The suspect faces charges of sextortion and violation of the Anti-Voyeurism Law in relation to Child Abuse.
Sextortion refers to a form of blackmail in which sexual information or images are used to extort sexual favors from the victim. Social media and text messages are often the source of the sexual material and the threatened means of sharing it with others.
