A municipal vice mayor in Misamis Oriental is facing charges after a 16-year-old girl filed a complaint with local police.

The incident happened  five months ago, but a complaint is only now being filed against Talisayan Vice Mayor Carlito Rayon.

Rayon is accused of bringing the girl to Queensland Motel on October 28, 2014. Prosecutors will file formal charges of Republic Act #7610 (the Anti-Child Abuse Act) under law #7610, an adult who brings a minor that is not their relative into a hotel, motel and various other noted locations is in fact committing trafficking.

Rayon has until today to submit a counter-affidavit to the charges.
