The Philippine National Police Women and Children Protection Center launched the entrapment operation at a hotel today (Friday, September 14).

Suspect Raymond Falcotelo alias “Kaye” was caught receiving 4,500 pesos-worth of marked banknotes as partial payment for women to entertain a group of foreign guests checked in at a private resort in Old Zabarte Road in Camarin.

Chief Superintendent William Macavinta, who led the operation, said the suspect provided women for parties and events, particularly in tourist resorts.

“For example, there is a birthday party, they will request for “happy hour”, for someone who will give them a good time. The pimp will offer the women for their services. The price range depends on the customer’s demands,” he said.

He added that the rate for the women’s services ranged from 2,000 to 15,000 pesos.

Under questioning, Falcotelo said he spoke with other pimps via Facebook. He said they also used social media to look for women to offer to clients.

“There’s a birthday party, some Taiwanese ordered women. They will just be drinking and bonding,” he said.

“I received a message telling me to send four girls. They said it will not be enough. Another friend sent five girls until there were many more.”

Macavinta said the suspect blackmailed the women by threatening to expose their identities on social media if they refused to cooperate.

“The pimp threatened them and said that if they didn’t come, they will be exposed on social media and in their neighbourhood,” he said.

Police are continuing to investigate whether the resort owner is involved in the prostitution.

Macavinta urged establishment owners to be vigilant and ensure that their properties were not used for illegal activities.

“We demand from owners that as part of their social responsibility, they won’t let their establishments be used for sexual activities and they should report such activities to authorities in their areas.”

The suspect will be charged with Republic Act 9208 or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003.
