Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Jaime Morente has today (Thursday, February 14) identified the suspect as Kenneth Tobias Christoffer Moberg, aged 28.

Morente said operatives from the BI’s Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) alongside agents from Philippine National Police Regional Intelligence Division arrested Moberg on Monday at his home in Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, San Enrique.

Moberg has since been transferred to BI’s Bicutan detention centre in Taguig City to await deportation proceedings.

According to Morente, the mission order for Moberg’s arrest stemmed from the request of the Bangkok-based Nordic Police and Customs Cooperation, which told BI that Moberg “is the subject of a red notice from Interpol”.

A Swedish Court also issued an arrest warrant due to his involvement in criminal cases such as “gross fraud, attempted fraud and unlawful use of identity”.

BI-FSU chief Bobby Raquepo said Moberg has been hiding in the Philippines since May 23, 2018, when arrived on a tourist visa. “He is also an overstaying and undocumented alien,” he added. “His passport was already revoked by the Swedish government.”

Moberg, who is from the small town of Vedum in southern Sweden, will be deported upon issuance of a summary deportation order from the BI Board of Commissioners.

He will also be blacklisted from returning to the Philippines for being an “undesirable alien”.

As we also reported today, BI operatives have arrested an American wanted for multiple rape cases in the USA.

Adrian Dean Eddings II, aged 44, was arrested in Barangay Gulang-Gulang at about 8.30pm yesterday.

According to Fox23, Eddings, from Cleveland, Oklahoma, fled the United States on January 20 after the rape investigations against him were launched.

Two days later, the Fourteenth Judicial District of Oklahoma City issued a warrant for his arrest.

He is also being held at Bicutan pending deportation.
