The National Bureau of Investigation-Laguna District Office on Thursday arrested the primary suspect in killing Adrian Ramos, the nephew of Jang Lucero’s girlfriend, Meyah Amatorio.
The NBI operatives’ joint forces from Laguna, Rizal, and NCR raided and arrested the suspect under a search warrant.
The NBI, however, did not name the suspect while they continue the “backtracking and investigation” of the case.
The agents recovered from the suspect a cellphone, allegedly taken when Ramos and Meyah Amatorio were abducted in July.
NBI Director Eric Distor described the cellphone’s recovery as a “breakthrough” as it would help them trace the persons behind Ramos and Amatorio’s abduction. It would possibly also give leads to the killing of Jang Lucero.
The nephew of Meyah Amatorio, who was also abducted with her, was found dead a few meters away from where Laguna lady driver Jang Lucero was found dead.
Armed men forcibly took Adrian Ramos and Meyah at their compound in Bay, Laguna. Ramos was found dead with his hands tied and eyes blindfolded.
According to the report, Ramos sustained stab wounds, a broken nose, and a coiled wire around his neck, indicating that the victim was tortured before being killed.

There was cardboard left on his corpse, and it was written: “mamamatay tao, pusher at hoodlum ako, huwag tularan (I am a murderer, pusher and hoodlum, do not imitate).”
Relatives identified Ramos’ body due to his limp on his right foot due to an accident.
Amatorio previously and repeatedly denied her involvement in the killing of her girlfriend.
Meyah Amatorio’s former girlfriend, Annshiela Belarmino, was first tagged in the crime and was charged by the Calamba Police with the murder of Lucero.
But Belarmino was released after the Calamba Prosecutor’s Office dismissed the murder complaint due to the lack of sufficient evidence to link her to the crime.
Belarmino had earlier denied that she had anything to do with Jang’s death, who sustained 52 stab wounds to the body.
Meanwhile, Amatorio insists that Jang’s family’s suspicion that she was involved in her girlfriend’s death is untrue.
