The male suspect in the rape and murder of a 6-year-old girl was killed this Monday in San Pascual, Batangas after he allegedly fought with the police.
The 23-year-old suspect was with the Batangas City Prosecutor’s Office with the police when the incident happened around 1:15 pm in Barangay San Antonio, San Pascual.
The suspect allegedly asked the police for water and while drinking, he snatched Corp. Michael Agulio’s gun.
Agulio also sustained a shoulder injury and was rushed to Bauan Doctors Hospital.
The 23-year-old suspect was charged with rape with homicide after he allegedly raped and killed a 6-year-old girl in Bauan, Batangas last month.
According to the victim’s mother, her 6-year-old daughter was not at home when she returned from selling at the market on January 24.
Police and villagers searched the forest near them but failed to find the child. But on January 29, the body of the child was found decomposing in the forest, naked and bound.

“‘Yung damit po ng bata is yun po ang pinantali sa kamay at paa niya. Initially sabi ng medico-legal officer ng Batangas is may palatandaan ng panggagahasa. ‘Yung damit po ng bata ang pinagsakal sa kanya,” said Bauan Police chief Karlos Lanuza.
The mother of the victim was enraged by what happened to her child.
“Napakasakit kasi nawala na lang bigla ang anak ko hindi ko naman akalain na iyan ang mangyayari sa kanya,” she said.
The 23-year-old suspect was arrested, a construction worker who was found to be a friend of the victim’s brother and cousin.
The suspect confessed to the crime.
“Kaya ko nagawa ‘yun dahil ho ako ay nakainom lang . . . Hindi po ako nagda-drugs, ginahasa ko po pero pinagsisisihan ko po, ako po ay humihingi ng pasensya sa mga magulang ng bata po,” the suspect then said.
