Suspect for robbing P30M from Japanese arrested due to social media

A robbery suspect in Pasig City who allegedly involved some policemen was arrested after posting his picture on social media.

According to police, the suspect admitted his participation in the crime on Friday after being arrested in Bicol.

Based on the NCRPO investigation, the suspects entered the house of a Japanese man and his Filipina partner in Barangay Kapitolyo and aimed a gun at them.

The suspects allegedly forced the foreigner to open the vault with only cash of PHP30 million.

An expensive mobile phone was also taken from the victim.

Earlier, four Taguig City police station personnel were placed in restrictive custody for their involvement in the alleged robbery.

The suspects were identified as Jayson Bartolome, Merick Desoloc, Christian Jerome Reyes, and Pat Kirk Joshua Almojera.

AJ Mary Agnas, who allegedly works for the victims, was also arrested. Meanwhile, suspect Jhon Carlo Atienza was found dead at the corner of Kalayaan Avenue and Tolentino Street in Barangay Pinagkaisahan,  City, last Friday night.

Based on the CCTV footage of the barangay, Atienza’s body fell on the motorbike.

The money in the sack and a gun also fell from the vehicle.

The motorist went straight from Kalayaan to EDSA.

The suspects allegedly forced the foreigner to open the vault with only cash of PHP30 million.

An expensive mobile  was also taken from the victim.

The victims immediately filed a complaint in Barangay Kapitolyo.

Authorities responded quickly and chased the fleeing suspects on a motorcycle to Sta. Monica in Brgy. Capitol.

Meanwhile, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos said he sacked Maj. Nimrod Balgemino Jr., commander of the Taguig police sub-station 1, to prevent “undue influence in the investigation.”

“I want to get to the bottom of this incident and unmask all persons involved in the crime,” Carlos said.
