The suspect in the killing of a 66-year-old American fashion designer in Caloocan City, Metro Manila, has been arrested.
Police say a witness found the body of James Rinaldo Boudreaux at 1am this morning (Wednesday, July 12) in a room he had moved into just four days before.
Marissa Silva, the victim’s landlord, said she heard Mr Boudreaux crying for help. When she went to check on him, she found him dead.
The victim’s body was taken to a funeral parlour where an autopsy revealed he had been stabbed eight times.
Local police chief Chito Bersaluna, identified the suspect as tricycle driver Romeo Deluna Jr, who was arrested hours later in his house.
In CCTV footage, the 23-year-old suspect was seen fleeing the crime scene without his shirt, minutes after the killing.
Police say that Deluna claimed that Mr Boudreaux had been attempting to force himself onto him sexually when he lashed out with a knife.
