Group of students asks for help for competition in United Kingdom

A group of students from Davao City who are scheduled to compete in the United Kingdom is appealing for help.

Because of their invention that will help farmers, Alipugpug Tech Solutions, a startup comprised of graduating students from the Davao City campus of the University of Mindanao, is set to compete in the Hult Prize International 2021 in the United Kingdom.

According to Elpedio Corbeta, Jr., one of the group members, although they have already received little help from the government and some private companies, they still need fares and payment for COVID-19 testing and quarantine facilities in the United Kingdom.

The group is known for their invention that can help farmers plant.

“We use hydroponic system para mas mapabilis at mapaganda ‘yong quality ng crops,” said Corbeta.

He said their invention would also help farmers reduce their expenses because they will no longer buy pesticides.

He said the invention was not a school project but was actually made by the group because some of their members are children of farmers.
