Student dead from punch of classmate he jokingly strangled

A 17-year-old student died after he was punched by his classmate and friend in Pigcawayan, Cotabato. The victim jokingly strangled the suspect who, in turn, hit him.

GMA News “Saksi” reported Wednesday that the 15-year-old and 17-year-old victims were cleaning their classroom Tuesday afternoon.

But when they were finished, it was said that the victim, Jessie Pulpol, had strangled and pulled his friend over and said goodbye.

The suspect took offense and punched Pulpol in his nape. The victim suddenly weakened and eventually lost consciousness.

Pulpol was rushed to the school clinic and was later taken to hospital due to a severe condition but died.

The minor suspect is now in the custody of the social welfare department, which has not released a statement.

The parents of the suspect and the victim were already talking regarding the incident.

Police officer punched drunk minor in Baguio city

A police officer punched an intoxicated juvenile in Baguio City, according to Unang Balita, Wednesday morning.

In a cellphone video, the man was seen falling off the road after the cop punched him in the stomach.

According to the investigation, the suspect was drunk and got into a fight with another man. A female police officer stopped him.

According to the police, he did it to calm and stop the teenager.

The complaint was filed against the suspect, but it was found that he was minor. He is now under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Authorities are investigating whether the cop committed police brutality.
