Spa in QC offering prostitution raided

National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) operatives raided the Utopia Health Spa in Quezon City, where prostitution was allegedly taking place.

The spa is said to be secretly operating the modified enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila.

When NBI agents entered the spa, the drinkers were late in the act. There are still registered customers inside the rooms.

Some of them left shoes and slippers when attempting to flee.

One of the smugglers climbed on the roof and was chased by operatives. After a few minutes of running and searching, he was also caught by the NBI.

Authorities did not capture the spa owner.

The arrested spa staffers denied that they were providing the extra service.

According to the NBI, netizens are complaining about the establishment. The charge is said to be at least P3,600 per woman.

He also said that clients would not be able to enter without a booking.

“Napakadelikado po nito, considering may Delta variant. Ito’y isang paraan para mapabilis kumalat ang COVID,” said NBI special task force chief Bernard dela Cruz.

The spa management will face multiple cases of human trafficking and violation of quarantine guidelines.

The rescued were brought to the DSWD.

Meanwhile, the MECQ will start at the following locations from Wednesday to next Tuesday:

  • Apayao
  • Ilocos Norte
  • Bulacan
  • Cavite
  • Lucena City
  • Rizal
  • Aklan
  • Iloilo province
  • Iloilo City
  • Lapu-Lapu City
  • Cebu City
  • Mandaue City
  •  de Oro City

In the aforementioned areas, there will be restrictions on dining, personal care services, and religious activities to prevent COVID-19 infection.

Meanwhile, based on  data, it appears that 550,940 violators have been recorded, or equivalent to an average of 61,216 per day.

In NCR Plus, which consists of Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, and Cavite, 369,243 violators have been reported since the return of MECQ. That’s equivalent to 41,027 daily averages.

As many as 1.95 million people have been infected with COVID-19 in the Philippines, according to data from the  yesterday. Of that number, 33,109 people died.
