SM Pampanga is launching the first drive-in cinema in the Philippines, called “Movies at Sundown,” on July 31 at the mall’s Amphitheater.
“Experience watching movies just like the old days! The first drive-in cinema in the Philippines will finally open on July 31, 2020, at the SM Pampanga Amphitheater,” iOrbitNews Online posted with SM City Pampanga.
According to SM Pampanga, the drive-in cinema will open every Friday to Sunday at 5:30 p.m. and 8:20 p.m.
Moviegoers will have to pay P400 for the movie bundle, which includes regular popcorn, bottled water, and beef franks.
Only four persons would be allowed per vehicle.
The government imposed social distancing inside establishment amid the spread of COVID-19. The drive-in cinema would allow customers to enjoy movies while observing health protocols.
A drive-in theater or drive-in cinema is a form of cinema structure consisting of a large outdoor movie screen, a projection booth, a concession stand, and a large parking area for automobiles.
Within this enclosed area, customers can view movies from the privacy and comfort of their cars. Some drive-ins have small playgrounds for children and a few picnic tables or benches.
A partial drive-in theater—Theatre de Guadalupe—was opened in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on April 23, 1915. The first movie shown by the Theatre de Guadalupe was Bags of Gold, produced by Siegmund Lubin. Theatre de Guadalupe soon was renamed De Lux Theater before closing in July 1916.

Demi Lovato engaged with Max Ehrich
Singer Demi Lovato announced her engagement with boyfriend Max Ehrich on her Instagram Thursday.

Demi added that she’s “honored” to accept Ehrich’s hand in marriage and that she’s “ecstatcic” to start a family with him.
