Six people are dead and 28 others injured after two buses collided head-on yesterday near Silay City, Negros Occidental.

The two Ceres buses collided at 7am yesterday on the national highway. Most of the victims were pinned under the one bus which fell on its side in the middle of the road.
Probers said the bus bound for Escalante City overtook a vehicle in front of it and it hit an oncoming bus bound for Bacolod City.
Victims were rushed to the Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay, City. The others were brought to Our Lady of Mercy Specialty Hospital in Bacolod City.

The driver and conductor of the bus bound for Escalante City are presently being detained at a local police station.
