The Ministry of Health or MOH of Singapore has issued a vaccination-differentiated visitation approach to prevent COVID-19 transmission in their hospitals and protect vulnerable patients.
Beginning August 19, 2021, the visitor’s visit to their patient will depend on the COVID-19 vaccine status: fully vaccinated, partially vaccinated, and unvaccinated visitors.
According to the agency, fully vaccinated visitors, including those fully recovered COVID-19 infected who possess a valid Pre-Event Test or PET, are no longer required to undergo the pre-visit COVID-19 test. Instead, the visitor only needs to present their proof of vaccination using the HealthHub or TraceTogether app.
Partially vaccinated individuals must show a negative pre-visit COVID-19 test result before they can be admitted to the ward, beginning August 19, 2021.
Meanwhile, unvaccinated visitors will not be allowed to enter hospital wards if no negative COVID-19 test results can be presented by antigen rapid test or ART or by polymerase chain reaction or PCR test within twenty-four hours visit.
A “30 minutes only visitation” applies to all hospitals in Singapore regardless of vaccination status. An individual may only be given a visit of more than 30 minutes on a case-to-case basis and if their patient meets the following criteria:
