Signal no.3 up as Typhoon Ulysses moves closer to Quezon-Aurora area

Typhoon Ulysses is moving closer towards the Quezon-Aurora area, raising tropical cyclone wind signal no. 3 over 30 areas.

At 10:00 AM today, the center of Typhoon Ulysses was located based on all available data including Daet Doppler Radar at 100 km North of Virac, Catanduanes.

Destructive winds and intense with at times torrential rainfall associated with the region of the eyewall and inner rainbands of the typhoon will be experienced over the northern portions of Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, and Camarines Norte until tonight and over Aurora and northern portion of Quezon tonight through tomorrow early morning.

Throughout the passage of Typhoon Ulysses, destructive typhoon-force winds will be experiencing in areas under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) #3, damaging gale- to storm-force winds in areas under TCWS #2, and strong breeze to near gale conditions in areas under TCWS #1. In other areas, the rest of Northern Luzon will be experiencing strong breeze to gale-force winds due to the surge of the Northeast Monsoon.
