Seven tourists who went on a bird-watching expedition on Mt Kitanglad, Bukidnon province on the island of Mindanao, are caught in crossfire between soldiers and communist guerrillas.
Their guide Carlito Gayramara of Malaybalay City was wounded in the fire – as of this posting he is being treated at the Bethyl Hospital.

Police are still investigating the attack to verify if any foreigners were wounded.
The tourists are said to include three British, two Danish and one Australian. The skirmish broke out in Barangay Dalwangan, Malaybalay City. The fighting is between the 1st Special Forces Battalion and the New People’s Army.
Reports say that several skirmishes in the region have happened recently – especially around Mount Kitanglad.
