Nineteen women, including several senior citizens, were rescued by authorities from prostitution in Manila on Sunday night, wherein a suspected pimp was also arrested.

Police raided Rizal Avenue and Recto Avenue in Santa Cruz district after receiving information that prostitution had occurred there, according to Lt. Col. Reynaldo Magdaluyo, commander of Manila Police District Station 3.

The women were rescued from the operation are allegedly offering their services to those passing through such roads.

The rescued women included several senior citizens, such as 62-year-old alias “Nicole.”

According to “Nicole,” she has endured three years of selling herself to support her four grandchildren.

Authorities also arrested an alias “Mamu” for allegedly pimping women. He was arrested in 2016 for human trafficking.

A series of anti-prostitution operations were conducted in Metro Manila this weekend.

Makati City authorities rescued at least 36 women in a raid on two sex-den in the city on Saturday.

Two masseurs who offered extra service to clients were arrested Saturday night at a tattoo parlor in Manila, where prostitution was taking place.

On paper, the establishment is a tattoo shop and wellness center. But police officers arrested the men working there who were caught in the act of having sex with their male customers. Those arrested admit that in addition to massages, they provide extra service.

Eighteen women from prostitution were also rescued in Santa Cruz district Sunday morning.

In Quezon City, authorities rescued ten women after they raided a KTV and disco bar in the early morning of Sunday.
