Security guard kills fellow guard in Cabanatuan City

A security guard was killed while his fellow guard was seriously injured after another security guard stabbed them indiscriminately inside their guardhouse in a subdivision in Barangay H. Concepcion, Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija Province yesterday.

In the report of PLt. Col. Barnard Danie Dasugo, Cabanatuan Police chief, the victims are identified as SG Billy Joe Salanga of Barangay Pamaldan, who died in the incident, and SG Jaynard Manabat of Brgy. Sumacab Norte of the said city is still under observation at the Nueva Ecija Doctors Hospital.

The pursuit of suspect SG Joseph Tamayao of Brgy. Talipapa, who is a fellow guard of the victims, continues. The three are all assigned to the Don Jose Real Subdivision.

It was exactly 2:45 in the morning when the suspect arrived and suddenly stabbed the two while the victims were sleeping soundly inside their guardhouse.

Manabat was able to wake up due to the stab wounds to his face. Manabat immediately got up, and there he saw the suspect stabbing Salanga.

Although bloody, Manapat quickly ran out of their guardhouse and immediately asked for help from the authorities, but even before Manabat could return, the suspect quickly escaped and was caught by CCTV.

Salanga was not taken to the hospital because he was dead on the spot, while Manabat was rushed to the hospital.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing, as well as the pursuit of the suspect.

Municipality of Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte will be locked down due to COVID-19

The municipal hall of Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte, will be subjected to a 3 -day lockdown starting Monday.

This is after some local government employees tested positive for COVID-19.

The suspension of the operation of the Santo Tomas municipal government offices has also been extended, based on the order of Mayor Ernesto Evangelista.

Most municipal workers work from home, except for office staff related to health services and disaster preparedness.

The meeting of local government staff, including the Sangguniang Bayan, will also be virtual.

So far, the town has 396 COVID-19 cases, of which 115 are active cases.
