Officials of the Mathematics Trainers Guild Philippines have announced that the maths competition scheduled for October 26 to 29 will go forward in spite of ten countries saying they will not attend the event due to the recent kidnapping of foreigners.
Ten of the 15-nation competition have said they will not come to the Philippines due to security fears.
The event has been held in the Philippines four times, including in 2005, 2009, 2011 and 2013 in the cities of Tagbilaran, Iloilo, Naga and Tagaytay.
