Scammer steals donation money for sick father

The scammer did not spare the donation of up to P15,000 raised through social media by a child to treat his sick father.

In a report by Emil Sumangil on GMA News “24 Oras” on Monday, Jayvee Buracan said that he asked for help from netizens to raise money for the treatment of his father Ernesto who has heart disease.

There were people of goodwill who gave help and Jayvee collected P15,000 in donations. But if there are good people, there will not be bad people either.

According to Jayvee, someone contacted him who would also give money and asked for mobile wallet account information.

But giving money was not really the purpose of the person who contacted him if not to steal money for his father.

Jayvee has already informed the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group of the incident.

According to PNP-ACG spokesperson Police Captain Mark Norbe, they already have a possible suspect in the incident and they have promised to bring Jayvee and his family to justice.
