On Monday, some areas on Samar Island were flooded due to rain brought by Typhoon Bising.
In the town of Jipapad in Eastern Samar, rivers overflowed and floodwaters reached the second floor. Some municipal facilities were also flooded.
Floodwaters also inundated some houses in Gamay town in Northern Samar. The affected residents have already evacuated to the evacuation center.
Meanwhile, the local governments of Mapanas and Palapag in Northern Samar suspended classes and work due to bad weather.
Based on 11 a.m. weather advisory of PAGASA, Bising was last seen 235 kilometers east-northeast of Virac, Catanduanes or 360 kilometers east of Daet, Camarines Norte. It has a force of 195 kph and a gust of 240 kph.
PAGASA added that the Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Samar, Eastern Samar, Biliran and the northern portion of Leyte will experience heavy rains on Monday.
Tropical cyclone wind signal number 2 was raised in Catanduanes, eastern portion of Camarines Sur (Garchitorena, Presentacion, Caramoan, Sagnay, San Jose, Lagonoy), eastern portion of Albay (Tiwi, Malinao, Tabaco City, Malilipot, Santo Domingo, Bacacay, Rapu-Rapu, Legazpi City, Manito), and eastern and central portions of Sorsogon (Castilla, Sorsogon City, Prieto Diaz, Gubat, Barcelona, Casiguran, Juban, Magallanes, Bulan, Bulusan, Irosin, Santa Magdalena, Matnog) in Luzon.
Northern Samar, Samar, Eastern Samar and Biliran in the Visayas are also under signal number 2 due to typhoon Bising.
