Roque: Filipinos should be ashamed as PH leads with most COVID-19 cases in ASEAN

Palace Spokesperson Harry Roque said Thursday Filipinos who lack discipline and continue to violate the ECQ should be ashamed of putting the Philippines in the number one spot in terms of COVID-19 cases in ASEAN.

Roque said in a virtual press briefing.

(Many of us are rule-breakers. And because of that, we are again number in ASEAN when it comes to the number of COVID-19 cases.)

(Stop being troublemakers, let us stay home.)

(When you compare our ECQ to another country, in Singapore, everyone obeys. In Malaysia, too. Only here in the Philippines that there was traffic on SLEx and in Divisoria despite ECQ.)

(Let us be ashamed. I will not deny that because we Filipinos should be ashamed because we are showing our lack of discipline while we are doing everything to protect our countrymen from getting sick.)

Roque then asked the mothers to start enforcing the lockdown in their households.

So para niyo nang awa po, stay in your homes,” Roque joked.

(It’s okay if you enforce ECQ in your house, your husband cannot go to his mistress. So I beg you, stay in your homes.)
