Robredo’s Vaccine Express at VisMin to be launched

Cagayan de Oro City Rep. Rufus Rodriguez confirmed that Vice President Leni Robredo’s Covid Vaccine Express program is being ironed out in their province with 20,000 drivers of tricycles, habal-habal, motorcycles, jeepneys, taxis, and even market vendors to be vaccinated.

According to Rodriguez, 4 areas in the CDO will initially be vaccinated.

Apart from the CDO, the OVP is also ready to bring the vaccine express to other places in Visayas, Mindanao, and Davao City.

Robredo’s spokesperson, Atty. Barry Gutierrez said earlier that they are also ready to help Davao fight against COVID-19 unless Mayor Sara Duterte blocks it and accuses it of politics.

It will be recalled that Robredo suggested to Davao City to emulate the system developed by Cebu City to reduce COVID cases after the province recorded the highest number of cases in all of Southern Mindanao.

Mayor Duterte did not easily accept the advice and told Robredo to refrain from advising if she did not know what was going on on the ground.

“The Vice President should refrain from advising if she knows nothing about what is happening on the ground. This has been the hallmark of her term as VP, where she puts forth comments on matters and affairs she lacks understanding and knowledge on and does not offer anything helpful to solve a problem,” the mayor said.

For Duterte-Carpio, Robredo’s tip was to “attack” the frontliners of Davao City.

“The VP should not attack the medical community of Davao City as being inactive when they have been silently suffering and working tirelessly to help save lives since March of last year,” said Sara Duterte-Carpio.

In a statement, Robredo’s spokesperson said that the vice president is the one who is allegedly dragged to politics.

“Si VP ang pilit hinahatak sa usapin ng pamumulitika habang ang buong focus niya nasa pagtulong,” said Robredo camp.
