Residents of barangay near Taal Volcano evacuated

Since Phivolcs declared Alert Level 3 Thursday on Taal Volcano, residents have immediately evacuated from barangays near the area, such as Buso-buso, Bugaan, and Gulod.

They were taken to various evacuation centers in the highlands of Laurel town, but others were in the towns of Nasugbu in Batangas and Alfonso in Cavite.

Those brought to Alfonso are still undergoing an antigen swab test at Pansin Elementary School to determine if the evacuees are COVID positive. Swab test negatives are directed to evacuation centers such as Manggas Elementary School and Alfonso High School.

But those who test positive will be taken to the isolation facility in Alfonso.

According to Dr. Nelson Soriano, Cavite provincial health officer, the antigen test result passed at their center was completely negative.
