Rabiya Mateo’s mother says daughter gave her best

Christine Mateo, the mother of Rabiya Mateo, said her daughter gave her best during the 2020 Miss Universe pageant.

On TeleRadyo’s “Sakto” program this Friday, Rabiya Mateo’s mother shared her reaction to the result of the popular competition.

So parang nag-pause kami for how many seconds. Okay lang. Tinapos din namin ang Miss Universe,” said Mrs. Mateo.

“Siguro a day after nag-message siya sa akin, ‘yan lang ang (inabot) ko, wala talaga.’ Sabi ko, ‘Magpahinga ka muna at saka let’s face another chapter of your life.’ Ganoon lang. Ayaw ko rin ma-pressure ang anak ko. Lahat naman ng sactifices at ay ibinigay niya roon, so that’s it,” she added.

In the message of Mrs. Mateo to all the people who love and support her daughter, she stressed that Rabiya has already proven that she has given her all as the representative of the Philippines in the Miss Universe.

“Sa mga nagmamahal sa anak ko, fans and supporters and friends, ang iba diyan ‘di ko kakilala. Pero napi-feel namin how they support my daughter — nagpapasalamat ako sa inyong lahat.

She said besides being competitive, Rabiya Mateo is an obedient and kind .

Si Rabiya serves as my partner,” she said.
