Quarantine protocols for fully vaccinated arrivals starting July

The quarantine period of arrival fully vaccinated abroad from “green” countries or countries considered “low-risk” for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) will be shortened starting July.

The Inter-Agency Task Force responding to the country’s COVID-19 response on Wednesday released the list of “green” countries.

The shortened quarantine period includes those who have been vaccinated abroad or those who come only from “green” countries.

Meanwhile, they also have to undergo RT-PCR test on the 5th day of arrival in the country. But even if their swab test result is negative, they still have to finish 7 days inside the quarantine facility.

For returning Filipinos who have been vaccinated abroad, they must bring proof of their vaccination status.

The Bureau of Quarantine will review the vaccination records of incoming passengers.

Those who have not been vaccinated can still return to the Philippines but will have to go through a 10-day mandatory quarantine in an isolation facility. Outbound travel is also allowed under certain requirements.

“These include ‘yung pag-execute ng BOQ declaration, knowing the risks involved in traveling, including ‘yung delay in the return trip. Whenever required by the country of destination, kailangan magpa-COVID-19 test at maipakita na negative,” said Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles.

Meanwhile, the Bureau of Immigration () announced that it would continue to implement the ban on the entry of all passengers arriving from seven restricted countries until July 15.

In an advisory, BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said the extension of the travel ban is in compliance with the latest Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) resolution extending for two more weeks the ban on the entry of passengers from the said countries which was supposed to expire on Wednesday.

The seven countries covered by the travel ban are India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, , Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.

Morente thus said that existing guidelines governing the arrival of passengers from these seven countries shall still be observed.
